Privacy, in plain language.
Tesslune is designed to work without collecting your personal information. Your pictures are yours, your puzzles are yours, and there is no advertising profile being built behind the scenes.
Effective
The short version
Tesslune does not collect, sell, or share personal data. The app stores the information it needs on your device and, when available, in your own iCloud Drive.

Information Tesslune does not collect
Tesslune does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, advertising identifier, device identifier, or gameplay activity.
The app does not include third-party advertising, analytics, tracking, or marketing SDKs. It does not sell personal information or use information for targeted advertising.
Information stored on your device
Tesslune stores puzzle progress, game preferences, and pictures you choose to import. This information is used only to provide the app's features: creating puzzles, restoring unfinished games, and remembering your settings.
Pictures you choose
Tesslune can access only a photo or file that you explicitly select through Apple's Photos picker, Files picker, or share sheet. The app does not request broad access to your photo library.
The original image file is not retained. Tesslune creates a normalized PNG working copy, limited to 2,048 pixels on its longest edge, and stores that copy in the app's local container.
Saved puzzles and preferences
Puzzle state is saved locally so play can resume after the app closes. Preferences such as play mode, sound, motion, and snapping settings are stored on the device.
iCloud Drive
If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is available, Tesslune mirrors imported working copies, their display names, and saved puzzle files to your personal iCloud Drive. This lets those items survive an app reinstall and return on another compatible device.
The developer does not operate a server for this feature and cannot access the contents of your iCloud account. Apple processes iCloud data under the Apple Privacy Policy.
If iCloud is unavailable or disabled, Tesslune continues to work using local storage only.
Sharing and third parties
Tesslune does not transmit personal information to the developer or share it with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties.
The app uses Apple-provided system services—including the Photos picker, Files picker, share sheet, local storage, and iCloud Drive—to perform features you request. Information handled directly by Apple is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
Children's privacy
Little Kids mode changes how the puzzle is presented; it does not introduce any additional data collection. Tesslune does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else.
Retention and deletion
Local puzzle data remains on your device so Tesslune can restore your progress. Saved puzzles can be deleted from the Tesslune library. Removing the app deletes information held in its local containers.
If iCloud Drive is enabled, mirrored copies may remain in your personal iCloud Drive after the app is removed. You control those copies through iCloud Drive and Apple's data management tools. Because the developer never receives this information, there is no developer-held account or personal data record to request for deletion.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if Tesslune's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when that happens.
